you're boring & forgettable

you’re boring and forgettable

now that I have your attention, you probably didn’t want to be cyber bullied by some punk on your Sunday afternoon

but if you could just stick with me, I know this email will help you improve all areas of your life

worst case scenario, you can just reply back to this email and roast me if you think I wasted your time (or there’s an unsubscribe button)

but earlier this week I did a two day fast, 48 hours and zero food, only water and coffee and spent a lot of time thinking

one subject I spent a lot of time on was the following:

How do you get the most out of this life that’s humanly possible?

and for myself and the people that I know that seemingly get the most out of life, not just monetarily, but in all areas, why is it?

a lot of this stemmed from when I went home to Ohio over Thanksgiving and saw a ton of people from my high school

There will be people I haven’t spoken to in 7-8 years that somehow know all about what I’ve been up to

and after chatting with many, and them asking how they can do similar things to me as if I have all the answers (I don’t) I have my opinion on why some people effortlessly get so much out of life

most people are boring and forgettable

harsh, I know, but many of them are struggling to get a job, well guess what, you and a million other people also have a finance degree from a decent school and 3.5 GPA

you are BORING, how is the hiring manager supposed to remember your interaction?

Why don’t you find their address and stalk their socials and send them a personalized gift?

Why don’t you send them an AI photo or video of like “life after hiring me” and it’s like you two court-side at a Miami heats game

They will REMEMBER that — these people are all human beings, we want to laugh, we want to work with people that are funny and memorable

the same applies in business, when you’re trying to win a deal, everyone is sending the same generic outreach scripts, same VSL’s, same EVERYTHING

who are the people that crush? The people that are memorable and funny, look at TJR’s rise, love him or hate him the dude is memorable

when was the last time you had a prospect that you found their address and sent them a brick with a sticky note attached “let’s build together”

these things literally aren’t even hard to do, it just requires SLIGHTLY more effort than the boring stuff that doesn’t even work

social life, every time I go to a new place (coffee shop, restaurant, etc) the first time I go I’ll tip 100% or more, if it’s a coffee order I’ll tip like $20 the first time on a $6 coffee

while Dave Ramsey is losing his mind, now when my favorite coffee shop has a line out the door, when my guy sees me walk in, he makes my drip coffee and rings me up at the front of the line

there’s so many ways to stand out and be memorable in your every day life, even when people ask you “how are you” and everyone says “good, you?”

you could say “I’m doing amazing, how are you doing?” or “I’m feeling blessed today” even “I’m having the best day of my life”

even if it’s not true, because maybe someone was having a bad day and you saying that with a smile on your face made them feel better

this goes for dating and relationships too, how do you stand out and be someone that is not boring and memorable

people remember how you make them feel, and if you’re someone that isn’t boring, you’re always making people feel good about themselves, they’re going to remember you

and life WILL get better for you, in every single realm, and anyone can get better at this by being intentional and by putting in effort in every interaction

every single time you communicate with someone, online or in person, as a social interaction or a business interaction, you should be thinking “is this message providing value or entertainment”

and if it isn’t doing either of those, you’re probably being boring and forgettable

don’t be boring and forgettable

be the person people want to be around and watch the world mold to what you want

that concludes my lengthy Sunday rant — the choice is now yours, if you think this wasted your time, feel free to reply back to this and roast me

but if you enjoyed this — let me know too

Happy Sunday,

Alex
