Working Hard Keeps You Poor
let me explain
there’s this giant myth that they key to success is to just “work hard”
everyone says it “work hard!” “hard work is the key” “work hard and you’ll be rich”
if this was the case, construction workers, coal miners, and landscapers would be SUPER rich
but they’re not, because hard work actually prevents you from getting rich, and I can prove it
let’s say you’re running an email marketing agency charging $1,000/mo and you’re cold calling to get clients or doing cold emails
I’m running a software charging $100/mo per seat and make videos / hire creators
you’re working your butt off to get clients, and then once you do, you have a crap load of work to fulfill
I may have one video pop off, or maybe I work hard to get clients, but then there is nothing for me to fulfill, the software does it
because of this, I can scale faster, but you’re working harder to make LESS money, and this is the trap so many people get into
you pick the WRONG vehicle - it’s like if we raced, and you only have to run 1 mile and I have to go 2 miles
but I’m on an electric bike and you’re running, not only will I beat you, I’ll do it with LESS effort
this glorification of “hard work” and “the grind” leads people to choosing vehicles that are more work to make less money…
there’s people building simple GPT wrapper apps, marketing them on tik tok, and getting to thousands in MRR in as little as weeks…
they’re NOT working hard, but they’re picking a smart vehicle
when you’re working hard 24/7 you don’t have the time or capacity to THINK and it is the thinkers that get really rich
don’t believe me? just go watch interviews of the greatest entrepreneurs ever, they all talk about how much time they dedicate solely to think
whether it’s on a walk, in meditation, somewhere else, but they prioritize thinking, it’s not all just “hard work”
get into a better vehicle, make more with less energy, build software and apps, market them with viral organic strategies and buy your parents something nice for Christmas
