In today’s newsletter, we will go over:

  • different methods to validate SaaS ideas

  • how to know if it’s validated

  • how much to spend

Breaking into Software: Ideas

everything starts with your idea, ask these questions about your idea:

  • how big is the total addressable market?

  • are their competitors making money?

  • is it business to business?

  • can I charge over $50/mo?

  • is it recession proof?

if it answers yes to most of these, it may be a good idea but that’s what the rest of this email is for!

Deep Dive:

so you have your idea, you asked the questions above and it passed almost all of them if not all of them

but you want to take an extra step to validate the idea before spending a lot of time or money building it

Here’s what we’re going to do

1) Pay ~$200 to get a Figma prototype made, so people will be able to see exactly how it looks and feels (and make development easier if we do decide to go through with this idea)

2) Build an early bird landing page using carrd, framer, or webflow - call out your ideal client profile, say the main benefit of the software, and then offer them a lead magnet (free guide) related to your software to sign up

ex) agency ownwers, we built a power dialer with parallel dialing to 2x the number of dials you make per day, join the waitlist for the breakdown on how we book 200 calls per mo with our cold calling team

add your figma mockup to the page so people can see what it’ll look like

3) Send Outbound Messages

two ways you can go about this

1) just send cold DM’s on platforms like X, IG, linkedin and try to get people on the waitlist and find people to interview (free)

2) buy a few domains, warm them up and connect them to smartlead, get 1,000 leads from listkit and do a 1,000 cold email test for like ~$200

if you get over 20 positive responses from the email campaign or get over 20 people on your waitlist - I’d say it’s an idea worth pursuing and to begin development

and this is exactly how you can validate a software idea for $500 or less in total

and it can be done for much less - the figma design is optional but I think it’s nice

the cold email is optional but I think it’s nice

in theory you could do this with just your early bird landing page, a lead magnet, and outbound DM’s and do it for sub $50

rinse and repeat this process till you find your winner!

best,

alex

How I can Help:

I built a new program to help people start a software company inside of 90 days

we go deep into ideation, validation, teach you how to build on bubble, go to market strategies, scaling

it’s a day 1-90 trello board, where I document what I do to build my power dialer every day for you to replicate with your idea

literally… will show you my cold email results, the results of the joint webinars I do with the partnerships I formed, How I formed the partnerships, How I hire…

my in house design team will create your figma designs

two group calls per week

there’s not another offer like this on the market - you can see the full details here

if you’d prefer to book a call you can do so here
