The Job Market is Cooked

I have a lot of friends searching for jobs right now…REALLY smart kids, went to top universities, got really good grades, and they’re having a ROUGH time even getting interviews

and unfortunately, I know why this is happening to them, their skill set isn’t as valuable as they may think it is

things that are valuable, are uncommon, rare, not everyone has it, 30 years ago this was a college degree

not everyone was that educated and so having a college degree could really help you stand out and give you a competitive advantage

well now… basically everyone has a college degree and so… it’s not as valuable

but besides the degree even, what they studied, and the jobs they’re applying for there’s SO many people that can do the job

I’ll give you an example, applying for an account manager job, the amount of people that can do that job is damn near anyone

so you’re fighting against the most amount of people possible, these kids that graduated from top universities are settling for jobs paying 60-70k per year (nothing inherently wrong with that)

BUT, I was paid $7,500 a month (90k/yr) by a tech company just because I was good at ONE thing (making content) and filled a role that not many other people could do

and that’s just the tip of the iceberg of what content has done for me, I’ve gotten one off brand deals, I have recurring affiliate commissions, I build companies off my content, I get into new rooms off of my content

the number one currency right now is ATTENTION and companies are DYING for people that can capture it

and the job market isn’t actually cooked, these giant companies are throwing TONS of money to creators

these companies have raised so much money, they’re fine they’re not hurting, they just put their money towards what makes them money and gives it to people that have a rare skill set…. making engaging content around tech

If someone came to me and was looking for a creator role, off the top of my head I could tell them 5+ billion dollar companies hiring, and a ton of bootstrapped SaaS companies hiring that I’m a part of

if someone asked for an account manager role.. I wouldn’t know anyone off the top of my head

so the market isn’t cooked you just haven’t adapted your skill set to what the market wants

the future is creators, creators will own the future, and people like Mr Beast, Logan Paul, Hormozi, have proved this
