Start a SaaS Business in 30 Days
(step by step instructions)
to make this email as easy as possible to read and to digest, we’re going to segment it into 3 core pillars
Finding a SaaS (software as a service) idea
Deciding how to build your minimum viable product (different builder options, do it yourself vs pay a no code dev etc)
Go to market strategy (how to market to get first customers for next to $0)
so let’s dive in, no fluff.
How to Find SaaS Ideas:
my personal favorite strategy right now is to head to acquire.com and filter to SaaS companies over $200,000 in annual recurring revenue
this shows you that these companies:
likely have product market fit
are revenue generating
the idea is validated
find 2-3 SaaS ideas that you like or maybe fall into your expertise
then - search for their competitors, and search their G2 reviews on google
so google (insert SaaS you found) G2 reviews
then filter to what people dislike about the product, and look for recurring complaints or feature requests
when you build your minimum viable product, you will solve one of the recurring complaints
How to Build Your Minimum Viable Product
This is going to depend on 3 things
How technical you are as a person
How complex your idea is
What your budget is
If you’re a really technical person, you will be able to figure out how to use the most complex no code builder (bubble.io) and then you can build almost anything on bubble even that you could build on custom code
if your idea is super complex, it’ll likely have to be built on Bubble as the other no code builders have some limitations on their functionalities
but if you have a simple idea and a small budget, building something with the following tech stack will be perfect for you
softr for your user interface
airtable for your backend data
zapier to tie some things together
if you have a complex idea and a minimum budget of $10k, you can pay my no code dev agency to build your product for you - if that’s you, click here to book a call.
Go to Market Strategy
Now we need to acquire our first customers for as little money as possible
a free method, is to join Facebook groups that your prospects hang out in, so say you’re targeting marketing agency owners, you’d join marketing agency owner Facebook groups
then inside those groups you’ll put out posts that contain value and plug your software as a means to execute the info
so say you built a twitter auto DM software, you’d make a post like “Agency Owners: Here’s how to 10x your leads with twitter DM’s”
then you’d plug your software in the middle and that’s how you can get customers for free
if you want to spend a little bit of money ($100-$400 per month) you could set up some cold email campaigns
that process is more complex so I’ll leave that explanation for another email
