In today’s newsletter, we will go over:

  • the timeline of starting a SaaS

  • what to focus on

  • how to move quickly

Breaking into Software: Ideas

Here’s a few SaaS ideas I still love:

  • credit repair software

  • viral tweet / linkedin post generator

  • AI content scoring software

if you want to inquire about my team building any of these for you - book here

Deep Dive:

you can’t get rich quick

but you can have a software company up and running inside of 90 days

which has never really been possible before - and this is thanks to no code

you can find an idea, validate it, build an MVP, and get your first customer inside of 90 days

here’s roughly what the timeline looks like

day 1-7: search for ideas, talk to people in ideal client profile, do a SWOT analysis for each idea, try to decide on which you want to start with

day 7-14: validate the idea, interview 102- people in ideal client profile, build an early bird waitlist, send outbound messages to get people on waitlist to validate idea (optional: set up a cold email campaign and gauge demand with 1,000 emails)

if validated (more than 20 positive responses or 20 people on waitlist) move on, if not, go back to week 1

day 14-21: either search for no code devs, vet them, and hire, or begin to learn a no code platform yourself

you can build it on any platform that will allow, I still think bubble is the best, but if that’s too technical for you, start with something easier like softr or glide

design your idea in figma or pay like $200 to get a figma design before kicking off development

let’s say development takes 30-45 days

day 51-66 it’s in development, but in this time you’re also:

  • buying 10 domains, warming them up, and buying leads for a cold email campaign

  • optimizing your linkedin profile for outreach

  • posting 2x per day on short form video platforms

  • posting 2-4 youtube videos per month

  • creating partnerships with people that sell a different service or product to same ideal client profile

  • creating 2-5 lead magnets that answer your ideal client profiles frequently asked questions

  • use those lead magnets to grow a newsletter to then market your SaaS

then development finishes

day 66-90: all of these things have had some time to compound, you begin cold email campaigns, linkedin outreach, form partnerships, keep posting content, distributing lead magnets, grow a newsletter, send newsletters pushing your SaaS

and… you should be able to land your first customer within 90 days

is it guaranteed? of course not

but this is what has worked for me time and time over again

as well as people like Louis who I helped

and I created a day by day trello board that shows you how to do each step of this process with videos explaining each task
