I Have to be Honest With You

In January of this year, I made the most money I had ever made in a month through my software development agency

and I rewarded myself by buying my dream car, a porsche 718, and this year started off incredibly well

but 2024 wasn’t particularly a good year for me, and I don’t mean financially, but because I wasn’t excited by anything I was working on

the development agency made great money, I have some large brand deals, but I made good money on low hours of work per week and it seems like the dream, right?

but ultimately I became bored, less interested in my work, and craved building something again that truly excited me

I missed the feeling of being a 19 year old in my dorm with no money but working on my business like it’s life or death

which again, it seems weird to miss that, when I had been making great money with minimal effort, and just got my dream car and lived what most would consider an incredible life

and starting in Q3 and throughout the entire rest of the year really - I was humbled and it ultimately has laid the path for me to do something that excites me

in Q3 with no warning, my payment processor shut me down and held a bunch of my money (some of which is still being held) and that greatly slowed my business while I got a new payment processor up and running

I made a few bad hires this year that cost me multi 5 figures and I decided that I’m done doing things purely for money, and that I will not work on anything that doesn’t excite me

and I’m in a blessed position where I have savings and investments, to where I decided to shut down my development agency and live off my brand deals + other small sources of income to go all in on my app Payd that’s launching in a week

and then the final nail in the coffin was - a week ago i got mono, and was the most sick I’ve ever been last Wednesday till Monday and I feel fine now - but I can’t do any exercise for another 3-4 weeks

so literally all I can do is work - and I’ve never been more excited about a project than Payd

I had Zappx this year and it just didn’t excite me - I only did it for content, the dev agency I just did for money, this I’m doing purely out of excitement and to show the world what I can do
