How to Never Work Again

I quit working

I am not a morning person at all, I usually wake up between 8:30 and 9am

However, waking up at 5:45am to go play pickleball or tennis is the easiest thing in the world, because I’m so excited to start my day with something I love

and even recently I’ve been waking up earlier because I’ve been so excited to begin working on my new company Lucra

I’ve been taking roughly 40 demo calls per week onboarding new brands, meeting with multiple creators daily to understand how we can make this easier to use, doing more outreach, and forming partnerships with other tools and companies

the results?

from 0 to 120 companies using our platform in two weeks, hundreds of full time creators on our platform, and on track to pay out 6 figures to creators in the next 30 days

oh…and yesterday my barista said he was legally required to let me know I was approaching an “unhealthy” amount of caffeine consumption

this is by far the fastest a new company has ever grown for me, and while part of it is surely because it is such a good offer (complete no brainer for all parties)

I’d argue the bigger factor is how much fun I’m having working on it (and the people I’m working with) and while I’ve never disliked what I’ve done, this has been the most fun

Don’t get trapped working on something you won’t get excited to wake up about, it won’t be worth it even if it’s paying well

try more things, every failure brings you closer to the one that you’ll wake up stoked to begin working on

we’re currently in a sprint to get V2 done by the end of the month, which includes a ton of user experience improvements on the business webapp side, but also rolling out a mobile app for creators

excited to share more soon, in the meantime go find something fun to work on that will make you forget it’s work

Happy Thursday

Alex
