How to Make Your Own Luck

sometimes gotta just ride the wave

I’m currently sitting on a rock in the water looking at the manhattan skyline

3 months ago I had no clue I’d be living in New York City, nor did I ever think I’d live in New York City

Tomorrow I’m going to San Francisco for the first time, and moving there likely a month later

Getting ready to meet some incredible people, some of the biggest VC’s, top tech entrepreneurs, and learn from incredible mentors

But I’ll have lived in four different cities in the last 6 months

Columbus Ohio, Miami Florida, New York City, and now San Francisco

And a lot of these incredible opportunities and “lucky” moments have been because I’ve been willing to say yes when all this change would be too much for others

You see we like to plan our life, and we like to think we know exactly how everything will plan out

But trying to force your life down one route rarely ever works

You have to flow like water, and go where life takes you and not try to fight it

Because you have to remember - you’re not in control, God is

And all you can do is ride the wave and adapt as you go

You may want one path of your life to work so badly but trying to force it will never work if it’s not Gods plan for you

So rather than trying to force life, stressing, and freaking yourself out

Learn to be like water, go with the flow, trust Gods plan and enjoy the ride

Nothing or no one great has ever come from being comfortable

Something can only grow if it’s been broken

It’s why one of my favorite sayings is “pray for hard times”

Because every hard time is gearing you up to become better, stronger, and better equipped to carry out the better plan God has for you

Be more willing to say yes to opportunities

build consistent habits (I’m building an app for this you can checkout here )

and luck will find you

Happy Tuesday,

Alex
