there’s never been a better time to start a software

between AI exploding and no code tools advancing, it’s never been more attainable for the average person

opportunities like this don’t happen very often, don’t get left behind.

Deep Dive:

so you’re trying to get clients in 2024

well… it’s harder than ever and what used to work doesn’t anymore

and by the way, the same is true no matter if you’re trying to get customers for a freelance business, agency, or software company

see you need to understand how rapidly the online business space is growing year over year

in 2016, there were so few marketing agencies, that getting clients wasn’t all that hard

in 2024, it seems like everyone is running some type of online business, or trying to

and so because of this

people are skeptical, and they should be

everyone is trying to sell them something and making outlandish claims like “we’ll book you 900 sales calls in 30 days or you don’t pay”

or “we’ll double your business overnight or you don’t pay”

and 99% of people are just trying to make money

and 1% are actually highly skilled and competent enough to get people results

and if you want that to be you, you need to do 2 things

1) actually study and work at your craft enough to be 1%

2) make it blatantly obvious that you’re top 1% talent (prove it)

the old way of getting clients people would really just find like one channel that works

cold email → push to demo → close client → if doesn’t close remarket through email

and then switch out cold email for any other channel, content, cold calling, ads, etc

truth is, this ISN’T enough anymore

at Closify, we really only did outbound marketing

and did well, but this was in 2022, little did I know how much better outbound marketing does when you pair it with content marketing

and little did I know how much better your outbound campaigns work when you send them to a lead magnet instead of straight to a demo

the NEW way of getting clients is creating a customer acquisition spiderweb ecosystem

where you do EVERYTHING

> send cold emails, linkedin DM’s, cold call

> post content on EVERY platform (written content, short form video, long form video)

> create 5-10 lead magnets that answer your ideal client profiles frequently asked questions (objections)

> send a newsletter 4-5x per week with value

> run free trainings to help your audience

> have multiple offers at multiple price points (newsflash, less than 1% of leads are qualified for your main offer)

because the first thing someone does when you cold outreach them is they SEARCH you

and if you’re a nobody on the internet, they won’t reply

but on the other hand - if you have free trainings, amazing youtube videos, podcast interviews, press, a great newsletter, tons of free lead magnets

and they may not reply to your cold outreach message, but after they searched you they opt into a lead magnet, or follow you, and now they’re in your ecosystem

and the name of the game becomes getting as many people in your ecosystem as possible, and nurturing them over time

see it takes people more time to buy now, so when you hit them with all this value over time

eventually, they will feel stupid to not work with you because of how much value you’ve given them

and you need to have multiple offers for them, let them try you out at a low barrier to entry with minimum risk

same with when you’re running ads, they see your ad and they search you

you need to do everything for maximum results

if you do this - you will get customers

if you do not - the gap will continue to increase between you and the people doing this until eventually your business dies
