5 Winning SaaS Ideas
build these TODAY
The number one reason why most people fail when trying to build a software company by FAR is they try to come up with an “original” idea
people want to build the next google or amazon, so they pick some idea that has 0 validation and you’re shooting blind in the dark if anyone wants it
or, they pick a super niche problem they have themselves to solve, without validating other people have that problem, and if they’d actually pay for it
and the third reason, is people choose a “vitamin” idea, it’s nice to have, maybe it helps a little bit, but people don’t pay for that, they pay for “pain killer” ideas that directly relieves a sharp pain (maybe churn in their business, can’t recruit good talent, etc)
so with that being said, first I’m going to tell you my process (again) of how I look for ideas, and then I’ll give you 5 ideas that if you build them, they will work for sure
Ok so what’s my process? Go to trustMRR(dot)com and you can see startups, their revenue (verified by stripe) and their growth rate
you want software’s making over 1m/yr, that are still growing, this shows you it works and bonus points if they have competitors also making great money
the sole thesis though is this: Find what’s working and build a variation of it
“but but but Alex it can’t be that simple”
it literally is, Calai go to 3m/mo but do you know how many clones also make 50-100k/mo? A lot.
I personally (because of my strengths) look for:
B2B
Helps businesses make more money
can charge over $100/mo and ideally the pricing scales up with usage or seats
lots of competitors making money
low platform risk (anthropic / openai can’t do an update and kill you overnight)
the customer should be PISSED if you turned your product off
The most important piece here in my opinion is the last point, and also being able to charge a lot
scaling a software that you can only chharge $50/mo for is very difficult, especially at the beginning when you don’t know your LTV yet
the more you charge the more you can spend to acquire a customer, running ads profitably on the front end to $50/mo is very hard, but when it can be $250 - $1,000/mo it’s way easier
so let’s get into some proven ideas with a brief explanation on why
Cometly competitor
207k MRR, it is a marketing attribution and analytics company for SaaS, competitors like hyros and triplewhale also crushing it
they niched down to software (smart) and you could do the same or even look into doing the same for mobile apps
better attribution = more profitable ads = business makes more money = you can charge a lot
this is a great idea (a bit complex to build) but a great idea and would rip and would especially crush with a good sales motion
Postiz competitor
Postiz is an ai social media scheduling tools and helps you grow your audience on autopilot
100k in the last 30 days with 20% month over month growth
faster social media growth = more money
easier to build as well
Hack2Hire competitor
offers coding and system design practice for interviews
Roy Lee built a similar startup interviewcoder that crushed, and this did 42k L30 days with 22% growth
as some software engineers are being replaced, selling a software to them that helps them adopt ai tools and get hired would rip
if it helps them stay up to date and land a good job, they’ll pay for it, only concern would be churn after they get a job, but still a solid idea as there will always be new supply created for this
Launch Club competitor
This is a reddit marketing to improve ai search SaaS
with AI seo being more important than ever this would rip and be an easy sell to businesses in my opinion
$46,000 last month I think this would rip as businesses know they need to rank in ai to succeed long term
Speel Co Competitor
This is a platform to generate ai UGC videos, there’s tons of these crushing
65k last month and claims 0 to 7 figure run rate in 3 months, businesses are dying for good UGC so this is an easy sell (maybe some platform risk with all the new video models coming out)
but none the less a good idea
if you guys want to build any of these ideas with my help and my CTO’s help, or if you just want us to build it for you, watch the short video below and apply if it makes sense
Happy Monday
